William Lopez: Jalin, welcome back to JRL. It’s been far to long since you’ve done an interview with JRL.

Jalin Fuentes: Thanks for having me back! I’ve watched the rapid growth of JRL with great pleasure and I am honored to be interviewed on the JRL web site.

William Lopez: Thanks Jalin,..now….No. 1 hits every time out the gate! 73 titles and counting, a major distribution deal with Marina Pacific Distribution and 10 brand new gay urban DVDs ready to drop for gay consumers exclusively on www.thugmart.com. Is there anything you haven’t accomplished yet Jalin?

Jalin Fuentes: In addition to producing a large library of movies, we also have a great variety of very hot web sites that we have created and run: www.thugporn.com, www.fuckflix.com, www.netdixx.com, www.tigertyson.com. Between DVD production, maintaining and constantly improving our web sites and branding Pitbull worldwide, we’re pretty busy! Of course, there is always more that we can do, but we are pretty happy with what we’ve accomplished in the short period of only six years. I think it’s safe to say that we are the undisputed leaders in the thug porn ® genre.

William Lopez: Tell us about some of the hotties like Gabriel! Where did you find him and what will we be seeing of him in Tastee Sampler [2009]?

Jalin Fuentes: Tastee [2009] is our 4th free sampler DVD, which we just started sending to customers this week. Each customer who buys a DVD from us receives a copy of Tastee for free.

This DVD gives consumers an opportunity to check out what we have to offer. Tastee has 35 of our most recent trailers, five full-length sex scenes and a photo gallery of our Top 20 Starz with hundreds of photos. It is three plus hours long. William Lopez: Exclusive models. What’s your thought on them and does your production company use talent agencies? Or, are you old fashion and go out and find your own talent to work with?

Jalin Fuentes: Tiger is signed to Pitbull exclusively. We find our actors in a myriad of ways. They many times find us, we get referrals from other actors, occasionally we use agents or we see someone we think is exceptional and we go out and find that person. The marketplace these days looks for new faces (and bodies) so we won’t sign anyone exclusively other than Tiger.

William Lopez: JRL fans will get a chance to watch the trailer of Tastee [2009], which is currently only available at Jalin’s exclusive retail web site www.thugmart.com. Jalin, tell us about the thug mart web site because I was reviewing it earlier today and I see that not only are you featuring your own films but you are selling other DVDs from studios as well. What made you and the Pitbull Productions team want to branch out into retail sales?

Jalin Fuentes : We are selling movies from Real Urban Men and Edward James Presents because we feel that both of these DVD studios are producing product that we like and respect.

Our retail web site has tremendous traffic and we have found that our customers have often not been exposed to either of these studios in the past. So it’s a win/win for all of us and we each make a few bucks.

As you know sales are not what they used to be in the porn market since the economy crashed so any way a company can maximize profits in a creative way is a good thing.

William Lopez: Tons of online retail web sites have been hit hard by the economy this year. Has it affected your bottom line in sales much?

I’m sure not too much considering you are constantly at the No.1 spot on the JRL Weekly Top 50 Black [Gay Porn] chart with every feature that you release but sales are sales and even though you can have a hit, sales can be down at the same time while others are hurting even more. That’s why I wanted to get your thoughts on the urban side of the gay porn industry.

Jalin Fuentes: Of course every company has seen a decline in sales from the biggest studios to the smallest.

We are very fortunately at Pitbull to have a very devoted customer base so we have not been as hard hit as many other studios.

William Lopez: Video on Demand. Good for Pitbull?

Jalin Fuentes: VOD is what customers want today. I can’t say if it’s good or bad, only that you have to give your customers what they want when they want it or lose them. Where technology leads, we all follow and soon with HD [high definition] video on our websites.
